Egg3 sale in Singapore

If you happen to find yourselves in Singapore in the next couple of days, do go to this wonderful store Egg3 who are having their end of season sale with discounts of up to 50%. It’s a treasure trove of unique and quirky homeware, tee-shirts and gift accessories. Whenever I go back to Singapore, this is one shop, I never fail to visit. Besides the original shop at Erskine Road next to the ubercool Scarlet hotel, they have now two more sister shops at Haji Lane called Salad and another Egg3 in the Eastern suburbs in Joo Chiat.

Merry Xmas!

Top: Church of St. Mary’s of The Angels in Singapore; Centre and Below: St. Bartholomew’s Church in Prague, Czech Republic.

As probably a few of you will be heading to a church nearby to celebrate the midnight Christmas Mass, these are two churches that I would most love to be at tonight. They are not really new but they are so cool.

The St. Bartholomew Church designed by Maxim Velcovsky in Prague is breathtakingly beautiful. While the façade and rawness of the basic structure have been preserved in the centuries old building, the interiors have been spruced up with glitzy chandeliers, Persian carpets and Vitra’s Panton chairs, customised with a punched-in crucifix. It’s totally awe-inspiring! The other church, the Church of St. Mary’s of The Angels in Singapore designed by WOHA architect firm, personifies clean design and minimalism with simple wooden furniture. Check out the air-borne statue of Christ hung with the help of high-tension steel wires. Who said design and religion don’t go together?
